A positive approach to disciplining employees

If you believe that 95% of all employees are responsible adults (good guess) and that they come to work each day planning to do their best, try to take a positive approach to discipline and corrective action.  Instead of trying to “fix them,” use your best self to communicate the situation clearly and succinctly. Then, by showing confidence and trust in your employee, find a mutually agreeable solution that will get the results you both want.
