When to shoot the last duck

Everyone likes their ducks lined up, but some of us spend far too long getting them in line.  There’s nothing wrong with being prepared, organized, and thoughtful unless you get caught up in “overplanning.”  How could that be bad?  Obsessive planning can increase your stress, cause a loss of perspective (too many trees; not enough forest), and inhibit spontaneity.  Sometimes when the last duck won’t get in line, just shoot the duck. Here’s a great article on how to stop overplanning: https://hbr.org/2015/08/how-to-stop-overplanning-even-if-youre-a-perfectionist
